Nadine semmler & May-Britt Mohnke (14 Jan, 2014) Me and my friend stayed at the cottage for two nights to visit the national Yosemite park and we loved it! The hosts are really nice and we were sorry that we couldn\'t spend more time at the b&b since we just visited for a short time! The rooms were clean and they had a lot of cooking equipment. The view is amazing and since we stayed there in January we had the whole place to ourselves. There are two bedrooms with comfortable queen size beds and we would stay there again!
Maria Gonzalez (08 Nov, 2013) This is our 2nd time staying at the Yosemite Cottage. We love staying here as it is very peaceful. It's home away from home. You have beautiful views everywhere you look, it be the varied forest landscape from the back porch or the pool courtyard with flowers all around you. There are plenty of areas to relax in (cozy seats, hammock and swing). You can hear the sounds of birds carrying on with their day's activities. We saw deer, wild turkey, guinea hens and all variations of birds. If you love nature, this is the place to stay. Clay is very accommodating and Joy's breakfasts are great!! The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and you have everything you would need in a home. Thank you Clay and Joy for being so wonderful!
Anonymus Thanks for the wonderful destination. We truly enjoyed the peaceful views and siversity of birds, esspecially the hummingbirds and quail. Such a ovely tranquil location to escape the metropolitan life. Wish we could stay forever. All our best wishes until our return.
The B&B is excellent I went to the B&B with my wife and another friend at winter time. We felt quite comfortable seeing the beautiful place and good facilities there. The room is well decorated, with all kitchen appliance, nice sofa, and so. Host and hostess are very nice. After talking with them, we know rooms are prepared for their children\'s and grand-children\'s visit, which makes it quite like home! We get well served with breakfast, which are best among our whole trip in US (west coast for 2 weeks, new york and Boston for another 10 days), and have the best night time sitting outdoor, watching stars. Meanwhile, we saw deers not in Yosemite park, but in Moriposa, not far away from the B&B.
Nice place, nice people We stayed at Yosemite Bed and Breakfast during our three day trip to Yosemite National Park. We drove there from Bay Area after work, and by the time we arrived it was around 11:30PM. After we parked, as we walked towards the courtyard of the building Clay greeted us and showed us our room. The room was nice and clean, the bed was comfortable, and we had a great sleep. For the next three days, we had a great breakfast each morning thanks to Joy. Her cornbread was the best I ever had, and it was even better with the honeybutter she prepared. French toast was very good, too, and we topped everything with plenty of her homemade blueberry syrup. After the breakfast we would drive to Yosemite National Park, which takes about an hour, hike all day, drive back, and sleep like a rock. The Inn itself is also nice, overlooking a small valley with hummingbirds, squirrels, and other wildlife all around. You can relax in the courtyard, enjoying the pool or the hammock, or sip your coffee on the porch overlooking the valley. Both Clay and Joy are very nice and I would recommend paying them a visit at their lovely bed and breakfast.
The greatest Base Camp to Yosemite My friend and I just returned from there. The hosts, Joy and Cray, are incredibly nice and kind, helped us very much. There\'s a nice size of swimming pool so we could cool down from afternoon heat, even the A/C in our room was very strong and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty, decent amount and perfect for the start heading the mountain recreation. If you are planning to visit Yosemite and looking for an affordable accommodation with outstanding service with nice pool, welcoming world birds and hosts, this is the place you should not miss.
My Favorite Bay Area Getaway This was my third stay at the B&B, and every time has been wonderful. The first time was during summer for a family reunion, and we had the whole property to ourselves (not including Clay, Joy, & their adorable dog). We BBQ\'d on the patio, played video games in the cottage, and just really enjoyed ourselves and our hosts - they were part of the "family" by the time we left. Joy even took some time to take family photos for us. The second time was just with just my husband - a winter couples getaway - and although the atmosphere was different it was still lovely. Clay & Joy were gracious, as always. We have loved this B&B so much that for the last trip, we brought 6 friends with us for a hiking weekend around Yosemite. We all arrived at different times but Clay & Joy made a point to make each group feel welcome. They brought over pastries, fresh fruit & coffee every morning, and chatted with us about our activities and the wildlife running rampant around the grounds. There are hummingbirds, wild turkeys, owls, and a variety of other birds to observe off the back deck. My personal favorite are the adorable little bats that make a brief appearance after dusk. They\'re so cute! This place has become our favorite "home away from home" - I can't wait until summer for our next trip!
Relaxing, with great views, run by wonderful people Thanks for the wonderful destination. We truly enjoyed the peaceful views and siversity of birds, esspecially the hummingbirds and quail. Such a ovely tranquil location to escape the metropolitan life. Wish we could stay forever. All our best wishes until our return.
Anonymus Stayed here while visiting Yosemite National Park. Clay and Joy were wonderful hosts, and went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. They provided breakfast earlier than normal because we were leaving for an early hike. The view off of the back deck is beautiful with lots of birds and wildlife to watch.
A hummingbird paradise Joy, Clay and their dog, Midge, made our stay as wonderful as can be. I travelled there with 7 other friends for a weekend of hiking and relaxing. The cottage was in immaculate shape with all kinds of wonderful little extras (m&m's, tea, asian crunchy snack mix, etc.) The towels were clean, the water was hot and everything was freshened up. My favorite areas are the hammock and the wrap around porch - complete with a screened in area to have meals. Out on the porch I spent hours relaxing and watching the wildlife (hummingbirds buzzing past, wild turkeys gobbling their way around the yard and hawks soaring above). Enjoy!
The most relaxing get away I loved staying at the Yosemite B&B. The cottage was spacious with comfortable beds, large closets and had separate bathrooms. The view was beautiful and gave a feel of being away from the hubbub of the daily grind. The swimming pool (solar heated) was the perfect temperature. The breakfast was delicious. The host and hostess are wonderful, friendly and thorough at caring for their guests. The thing I liked the least was leaving.
Heaven on Earth We had the privledge of staying with Clay and Joy, in their B&B for 5 delightful days, with our dog. Everything was just great, they are really personable and know A LOT about the area and the town of Mariposa. Every morning we would sit down for breakfast, there would be a cup of fresh fruit, fresh and warm muffins, one day french toast, the next a really yummy egg dish, and lets not forget the coffee that was always ready to go no matter what time we came in, in the morning. A very neat thing about the property is the immediate intimacy and privacy you have. Our room was settled in a little courtyard, that I would love to see in the spring time when everything is green and lush and the pool is open! The land they are on is full of vegatation and made for a great place to let our dog roam and investigate the area with out worry of traffic or other distractions. This was my first time to the area, and I was really pleased to be able to know that there is a lot to do! We spent two days in Yosemite, a day in Mariposa, even a day relaxing at the B&B, just for the record Clay and Joy are great conversationalist and are open to a lot of different kinds of topics. We will be looking forward to staying at the Yosemite Bed and Breakfast every time we are in the area!
